It perches on a stake and the dike
of the waterside, grass and I
jump into the surface of the water
when I find it and, in search of
game, prey.
I fly at a low-altitude and tend
to look for it.
The bait is a river fish mainly and
eats a dace of around 3-7cm, dace.
A crawfish else, a lobster, the
frog eat, too. I am strong and
fling it against a branch and
a pile with having added the fish
which I caught to a bill aside
and kill it and swallow it from a
head in one breath.
水辺の杭や堤防、草などに止まって、
獲物を探し、見つけると水面に飛び
込んで捕食する。
停空飛翔して探すことも多い。
餌は主に川魚であり、3〜7cmぐらいの
ウグイ、オイカワを食べる。
他にザリガニ、エビ、カエルなども
食べる。捕えた魚を嘴に横にくわえた
まま枝や棒杭に強く叩きつけて殺し、
一息に頭から呑み込んでしまう。
